Access to BowlsNet

The main BowlsNet site is available via the link http://www.bowlsnet.uk/

A device specific version of BowlsNet can be accessed via the link on the above page, or directly at address http://www.bowlsnet.uk/home. You can set up your favourite leagues and switch between them easily.

If you only want to access one specific league, then this can be accessed via the link on the main page, or directly at address http://www.bowlsnet.uk/<leaguename> (replacing <leaguename> by your unique league identifier).

Guest Access

You can use almost all features of BowlsNet as a Guest (no login required).
This includes viewing Tables, Averages, fixtures, match results, player history etc.

A login is only required for team captains and club officials wishing to enter results or make changes.

Navigating around BowlsNet

You navigate around the site via the menu at the top and using the corner buttons.
When you are on the main page there are three menus - LIVE, Web-Pages and Seasons:

The bottom-left LOGIN/LOGOUT button allows captains and club officials to log-in to enter match results etc.
The bottom-right button can have three values (with equivalent menu items in the LIVE menu):

Note that BowlsNet is a live web application rather than static web-pages.
You will find that although you can use your Browser back button to return to a previous page within Bowlsnet, button presses will not work on historical pages as they are no longer current. This causes the latest page to be re-displayed.
You should always exit BowlsNet (or at least ensure you are logged out) before closing your browser.

LIVE MENU

This gives you a handy summary of the League Tables, Averages, Latest Results and Fixtures.
You can drag the separators between the sections to change the size of each of the areas.
You can also select a specific team from the drop-down list to give a summary for that team, and select a player to show their match history.
All these featues work within the one page.

LIVE - Tables

This gives you all the League Tables. You can use the drop-down box at the top of the page to select just one division or use the Filter button to select specific venues or dates.
The Copy/Print menu item in the LIVE menu allows you to copy tables to the clipboard or printer.

You can also view a team's full fixture list, results and averages by clinking on the relevant team from the table.
A Copy button allows copying or printing of the list. To return to the Tables, select the Done Button.

A COPY button allows copying or printing of the list. To return to the Averages, select the DONE Button.

Team Captains (How to Enter Results)

This section covers how Captains can enter results, and verify results that have been entered by their opponents.

Access levels are as follows:

The Entering (Home) Captain

On completion of the match, one captain (usually the home captain, but not necessarily) enters the match results as follows:

Fixtures plus/minus 2 weeks should be available. If not, the best way is to use the drop-down list to select your team.
Alternatively select Results/Fixtures (filtered) and select a division, a specific week and/or a window of dates using the Filter button.

Click the Add button to the right hand of the disired match.
You will note that most other links say View. This is because the Captain only has access rights to their own team. Club administrators can enter results for any team in their club.

You now enter all the match results. Once complete you first press the Validate and Update Match Result button to check that all the players and game results are sensible and to calculate the match result (aggregate and points).

If you agree with the result then select the I confirm this is a true and accurate record of the above match button.
If you don't agree, press the Return to Match button and correct any faults before trying again.
Once entered the result has been digitally signed and cannot be changed (except by the fixture secretary).

On returning to the Fixture page, you will notice that the result can be seen, however your opponents result is highlighted in orange. This means the result has not yet been Verified (signed) by the other team captain.

The Other (Away) Team Captain

The other team captain (usually the away captain) finds the match in the same way as above.

If it has been entered then you will notice that your result will be highlighted in orange and the right hand link says Verify (as will any other matches you haven't validated yet).

Select the Verify link to open the match result.

Check that all match results are accurate.
If you agree then select the I confirm this is a true and accurate record of the above match button.
If you do not agree then contact the Fixture Secretary, who will probably need to see the actual signed match card.

On returning to the Fixtures/Results page, you will notice that the result is now in green. This signifies a result verified by both captains.
The captains can no longer change this result once verified.
