IMPORTANT NOTICES

REGISTRATION MEETING: NOT 30TH MARCH (AS SHOWN IN THE 2019 HAND BOOK).

The league registration meeting will be held at Farington Conservative Club, 70 Stanifield Lane, Farington, Leyland PR25 4GA on Monday, 23rd March at 8:00pm.

The entry fee(s) for 2020 are £30 (per Veteran's League team) and £45 (per Evening League team).

Also, as of season 2020, the starring of players is no longer required, players can play only for the team for which they have been registered (passed at the January meeting).

Any team having doubts about participating in the coming season is to immediately inform the Secretary/Fixtures Secretary.

If teams would like to personally enter results online (captains, club secretaries or authorised designated person only).

Include the following details in your mail (name in full, club/team associated with and in what capacity you are/have been authorised).

SAFEGUARDING OFFICER

*** ATTENTION ALL CLUBS ***

In November 2018, the BCGBA issued guidelines that make it compulsory for all clubs to have a designated 'Safeguarding Officer' in place by Friday, 1st March 2019.

Clubs that have failed to do so could now face various fines or possibly a 'Suspension from playing bowls' from 1st March 2020.

BCGBA: REGISTRATION OF NEW PLAYER

At the 2019 British Crown Green AGM, it was agreed that 'New Bowler' registration fee be increased to £12.00 and 'Replacement Cards' be increased to £4.00.

NL&FCBA: AFFILIATION

The 'NL&FCBA Affiliation Form' for 2019 should have been returned by 30th April.

Any Club that has failed to do so, the 'County Affiliation Fee' is £42.70p and the 'BCGBA Annual Fee' (compulsory) is £30.00 increasing to £35.00 in 2020.

KNOCKOUT CUP

Due to inclement weather the previous week, the Knockout cup final between Chorley St. Josephs 'A' versus Eagle & Child Blue was held at Brownedge on Thursday, 19th September.

It was a pulsating match for all in attendance that went down to the wire, a credit to both teams for putting on a great display!

DOUBLES COMPETITION

Finals night (semi's & final) was held on Wednesday, 18th September at New Longton B.C., Windsor Avenue (Off Royalty Lane), New Longton, Preston PR4 4JL

Many thanks to NEW LONGTON for hosting the the quarter's, semi's and final, and EAGLE & CHILD, EAST WARD, HIGHER WALTON, and HOOLE VILLAGE HALL for allowing the use of their facilities for rounds 1 & 2.

Thank you also to the members of said clubs for giving up their time to help out on the nights.

Without clubs and members like yours, our league would not be able to organise such events as this... it is very much appreciated.

PRESIDENT'S DAY

President's Day was held on Saturday, 27th July at Victoria B.C., Woods Green (off South Meadow Lane), Preston PR1 8LJ

VETERAN'S DAY

Veteran's Day was held on Friday, 14th June at Fox Lane.

Congratulations Tim Slinger (Longton VM A) on becoming champion!

In the final, Tim beat Stephen Ashcroft (Wymott A) 15-07.

Thank you to Fox Lane for hosting this event, the organisers on the day, the caterers, markers, measurers, spectators that turned out, and last but not least, the bowlers that participated to make this day a success... it was an improvement on years gone by.

Each club registered with our league was entitled to send a representative from each team (vet's or night) to this event.

They could be either male or female, but must be aged 65 years or more.
